OBITUARY

Dallas County Farmer Dies Suddenly at His Home Near Carrollton

George A. Kennedy died suddenly at his home near Carrollton Thursday morning at 5:30 o'clock. Mr. Kennedy who was 55 years old, had been a farmer in Dallas County all of his life. He is survived by his wife and one married daughter, also two brothers, Sam Kennedy of Carrollton and Marsch Kennedy of Fort Worth and two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Jackson of Dallas and Emma Jackson of Carrollton.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church of Carrollton Friday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
Mr. Kennedy's father was one of the oldest settlers of Dallas County having come here from England in 1846.

FUNERAL OF CARROLLTON MAN IS POSTPONED

CARROLLTON, Dallas Co., Texas, Feb. 2. - The funeral of George A. Kennedy, who died on his farm, three miles east of Carrollton, Thursday, which was to have been held Friday, was postponed until Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services will be held at the Carrollton Methodist Church with burial in the Marsh Cemetery

OBITUARY

George A. Kennedy Dies at His Home

George A. Kennedy, pioneer, farmer, beloved citizen, died at 5:30 o'clock Thursday morning, February 1st, at his home near Addison. He is survived by his wife, two sisters, three brothers and one daughter, Mrs. Roy Pierce.

The funeral services conducted from the Methodist church at Carrollton, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, by Rev. Charles Dennis. The body was laid to rest in the Marsh cemetery at Farmers Branch and the Masonic burial service was held at the grave after which seven Klansmen appeared in full regalia who placed a cross of red carnations and the American flat at the head of the grave and after a silent prayer, departed in silence.

The pall bearers were W. E. Kennedy, W. H. Johnston, ,Bob Patterson, C. L. Chastain, Ben Noell and Edwin Lewis.

Mr. Kennedy came from one of the pioneer families of Dallas county, his father, J. M. Kennedy having come here from Alabama in 1846. Mr. Kennedy was born and reared near Carrollton where he married Miss Laura Marsh. He was a member of long standing in the White Rock Masonic Lodge at Addison.
