OBITUARY

M. C. Kirkham Jr.  
M. C. Kirkham, Jr. died on August 21, 2008. He was born on March 30, 1910, the first of four children born to Amy Peters and M.C. Kirkham, Sr. Growing up in Renner, he attended school there. He graduated from North Dallas High School and then attended college in Greenville and SMU before moving to Carrollton, where he owned and operated the Marathon Gas Station. In 1937, he married Erline Mayes of Plano. M.C. proudly served in WWII, then returned to Carrollton where he lived the rest of his life, working many years for Inca Metal Products and serving with the Carrollton Volunteer Fire Department. He was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed many hobbies including: photography, woodworking, reading, gardening and traveling the United States. M.C. is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Erline Kirkham. He is also survived by a niece, Amy Butler Kelsey and nephews: Joe Butler, Scott Kirkham, Stuart Kirkham; sisters-in-law: Aline Mayes and Shirley Kirkham; and several great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Monday, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Hilltop Memorial Park, Carrollton, Texas Rhoton Funeral Home 1511 N.
