from Men in the Service CAROL KIRKLAND DIES FROM
WOUNDS REC'D IN GERMANY
Pvt. Carol E. Kirkland, son of Mrs. E. J. Kirkland of Coppell, and
brother of Mrs. H. D. Brooks, who teaches the fourth grade here, died from
wounds received in action in Germany on the 26th of November, his family was
notified Monday.
No particulars were given.
Pvt. Kirkland is also the brother of Mrs. W. O. Cooper, Miss Jewel
Kirkland of Coppell, Mrs. H. A. Sneed of Big Spring, W. H. Kirkland of Coppell
and S-Sgt S. Kirkland now in Italy.
He was married and had a little girl, 5, named Beverly. She and her
mother, Mrs. Katherine Kirkland, reside at their home in Dallas, 1702 Filmore
drive.
He was 30 the 13th of January and entered the army in March.
He had spent four years at Carrollton high school, making three
letters, one in football and others in baseball and basketball.
