OBITUARY
IN MEMORY OF MRS. A. G. KIRKSEY
The many friends of Mrs. A. G. Kirksey were shocked to hear of her sudden death
at 12:15 a.m., Sept. 27. She was visiting a daughter, Mrs. L. J. McCormick in
Dallas, having gone there on Monday.
Mrs. Kirksey was born in Renner, Texas in 1882 and had made her home in
Carrollton for 43 years. She had lived a beautiful and useful Christian life and
was a member of the Methodist Church, was always in her place in Sunday School
and church on Sunday mornings. She will be greatly missed by her many friends.
The community felt free to ask her assistance in the social activities and
her home was always open to her many friends at all times and free at all times
in any arrangement. Her cooking ability was unexcelled.
Mrs. Kirksey is survived by two daughters, Mrs. O. F. Godfrey and husband, Mrs.
L. J. McCormick and husband of Dallas; two grandsons, Abe Godfrey and wife, and
Krik Godfrey, and one great-grandson, Don Godfrey, all of Carrollton; her
mother, Mrs. Polly Crockett of Renner, who is 92 years of age, and two sisters,
Mrs. M. C. Kirkham of Renner, and Mrs. Sallie Hill of Carrollton, and a number
of nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Frankfurt Cemetery with Rhoton Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
May the Lord's blessings rest on the bereaved family and be their staying hand
through the dark hours ahead.
