OBITUARY
Long Time Resident Passes to Her Reward
Carrollton people were very shocked and very grieved to learn of the death of
one of its most beloved citizens last Wednesday. Mrs. Amanda Lancaster, known by
everyone as "Grandma" has passed on. She had been a citizen of Carrollton a long
time and was loved by everyone. She was 78 years of age.
Mrs. Amanda Lancaster was born August 15, 1860 in Glasgow, Ky., and was a
member of the Union Baptist Church here. Funeral services were held Thursday at
the church. Rev. Earl Anderson conducting the services. Interment was in
Farmers Branch Cemetery.
Rhoton's morticians. Pallbearers were: Fred Boatright, Jack Anderson, W. W.
Perry, N. W. Oliver, C. C. Carver and Harry Foster.
She is survived by three sons: Lon and Cecil Lancaster of Carrollton and
Floyd of Dallas: two daughters, Mrs. Jordan of Farmers Branch and Mrs. Farrell
of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
