OBITUARY

Bruce Nelson Large (1925 - 2010) was born in Dallas, Texas, the son of son of Fred Nelson Large and Eva Bell Wall. He was the grandson of Joseph William Large and Esther Josephine Briscoe. He was the great grandson of John Large and Emily Pope, and Hezekiah Briscoe and Mary Jane McMannis. Bruce graduated from Carrolton High School, Carrolton, Texas in 1943. He married Cora Lorraine Irwin on 18th of September 1943. The children born in this marriage were : Bruce Nelson Jr (1944), Charles Leslie(1946), Gary Wayne (1948), Lou Ann (1949), Monte Ray (1953), and Brad Lee (1960). He worked for the Yellow Transite Freight Lines Company until his retirement. Bruce died near the same city in which he was born and is buried in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Irving, Texas.

Bruce is survived by his wife Cora, his children Bruce, Gary, Lou Ann, Monte, and Brad, his sisters Nora Bell Coates and Mary Laird-English, and a number of grandchildren.

He was intensely interested in his family genealogy and participated in excursions to locate the gravesites of family in Dallas, Fort Worth and in Oklahoma (Durant and Kemp). He had a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family and friends that knew this tall, gentle but strong minded man.
