OBITUARY

Melvin King Lewis, Jr.

He Belonged to the World

If you met Mickey, you loved him. If you loved him, a piece of you died along with him on November 9th.

He had a smile that would ignite the heart. His sense of humor made comedians laugh. His stories rivaled Mark Twain’s. His talent was boundless. His gentleness could tame a squirrel, and his indignation could terrify a giant. His love of family brought security. His presents were rarely serious. His generosity was always timely. His acting enticed others to watch. His ethics were resolute. His friendship brought belonging. His playfulness tickled the soul. His loyalty created trust. His creativity brought amazement. His preparedness brought order. His service to community and Country was boundless.

He belonged to the world, and his leaving left a hole in its heart.
