Jonathan Darrel Liston, born May 8, 1953, in Erie, PA passed away in Athens, Georgia on December 26, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrel Sproat Liston. He is survived by wife Cathy Liston, his son Jonathan Martin Liston and his wife JoAnna, their children Ransom and Jude; by his mother Mary Louise Liston, his brothers Jim and his wife Judy Liston of Florida, Dr. Bill Liston and his wife Jane of Virginia and his sister Libby Liston Roper and husband Russell; nephews Benjamin Liston, Benjamin Roper, David Roper and nieces Rachel Liston, Andrey Liston and Jordan Dawson.
Jon was a graduate of University of Texas at Arlington, had a Masters degree from the University of Georgia and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He was an eagle scout and encouraged and mentored his son and three nephews to obtain the rank of Eagle in scouting.
Jon was employed at the University of Georgia.
Memorial service celebrating his life will be held Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Tuckston United Methodist Church 4175 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605 at 4:00 PM; a reception will follow at the church.
