Obituary of Frances Louise Luckey
Frances Louise Luckey (nee Brown), age 95, of Dallas, TX, died
peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Frances was
preceded in death by her husband, Col. William (Bill) Luckey,
sister Alma Kathleen Broadhurst and brother Robert Charles
Brown. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathleen
and Mark McWilliams of Cumming, GA; sons Bill Luckey, Mike
Luckey and daughter-in-law Kim; grandchildren John Tarter, Sarah
and Stephanie Luckey, and Daniel and Ryan McWilliams. Frances
was born September 4, 1922, in Coppell, Texas, to Ollie and
Herman Brown. She met Bill Luckey while they were students at
the University of North Texas. With the U.S. entry into World
War II, Bill joined the Army Air Corps as a fighter pilot, while
Frances waited patiently for his return from duty, ultimately
marrying at the conclusion of the war. She loved her life
traveling the world as an Air Force officer’s wife, where she
experienced the Cold War in service as an administrator for the
EUCOM commander of NATO. She raised three children and started a
business career after her husband retired, working 20 years for
J.W. Bateson Enterprises. Frances was a long-time member and
