Earl Luna Elementary opened its doors in 1985. The district bought the land on Lochness Road and named the school for Earl Luna. Before Mr. Luna's death in the fall of 1996, he served as a Garland school board member, a Dallas attorney and the director of Memorial (Baylor Medical Center) Hospital in Garland.
