OBITUARY

Emilie Rika MacElvaine
March 12, 1992 – September 20, 2012

Emilie Rika MacElvaine passed away quietly and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 20th, 2012 at 6:00pm CST. She was surrounded by her family who loved her the most. She lived for 20 years, living, loving and making a difference in the lives of everyone she came in touch with. She came into this world with severe disabilities and had many challenges to overcome in the journey. Cerebral Palsy never got the best of our girl though, and she laughed every day, even when she didn't feel good.

There is always a silver lining wherever Emilie is. She took this opportunity to bring us all back together as a family, to remember the great times we've had together, holiday meals, family games and Grandmas long winded prayers (only a MacElvaine would understand).

Emilie was a senior at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, Texas, where she roamed the hallways encouraging others without words… but with just her laughter and smiles. Emilie has had hundreds of doctors, nurses, therapists, teachers, bus drivers and caregivers in her 20 years in the world, and every one of them would say the same thing. She brought out the best in everyone, to know her was to love her.

She is survived by her parents William Scott and Yuriko Tamaki MacElvaine, her brother William Alexander MacElvaine, and her paternal grandparents Robert Bruce and Patricia Ann MacElvaine and maternal grandparents Koyo and Mieko Tamaki, as well as the rest of her loving family.

Services for Emilie will be held at:

Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 South Interstate 35e, Carrollton, TX 75006, on Sunday, September 23rd at 7:30 pm.

She will be laid to rest at Hilltop Memorial Park, 1810 N. Perry Road, Carrollton, TX

Now she is in a wonderful place, doing all the things she couldn't do on earth. See you later sweet pea!
.
Arranged by Rhoton Funeral Home.
