OBITUARY

MARCOM, Thomas Dwight
Marcom, Thomas Dwight Tommy went to be in the presence of the Lord on August 17, 2009 after a sudden illness. Born April 29, 1964 in Farmers Branch, where he attended public elementary and junior high school and Heritage Christian Academy. He attended North Texas State University where he acquired an Associates Degree. Tommy married Melinda McCarley of Greenville on January 25, 1997, after a 10 year courtship. His priority was to love and care for his family which included their three beagles; Suzanna, Christina and Toby. Tommy worked in a variety of retail businesses which included Sanger Harris, Marshall Field & Co., and Brookstone, prior to becoming self-employed with his wife in the wholesale/fashion industry. His hobbies included gardening, reading, attending community functions, collecting rocks and minerals, and many attempts, successful and unsuccessful, at troubleshooting computer errors for family and friends. His secret hobby of being super-hero to animals that he rescued gave him great satisfaction. Tommy was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Bud Marcom, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny McGuffin and Uncle Jimmy Marcom. Survived by a loving family including wife, Melinda; father Norman Marcom, mother, Carrell Marcom, step-father, Marty Flaxman, great-aunt, Pauline Chapman, uncles, David McGuffin and Warren McGuffin and wife Ginger, brother-in-law, Mark McCarley, sister-in-law, Donna Marks and numerous cousins. Tommy will be missed by many friends including Bill W. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton where visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
