June, 1969. After a valiant year-long struggle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma,

graduated from Newman Smith High School, Carrollton, 1981. He received an A. A.
degree in Business, Brookhaven Community College, Farmers Branch, 1984, while

When the oil patch went down, Jim transferred to the University of North Texas,
Denton, graduating with a B.S. degree in Finance and Mathematics, 1987. Jim
worked part-time as an engineer at Southland's Tidel Systems while at North
Texas. He began his full-time career in finance with Concord Commercial, later
absorbed by Ingersoll Rand. Not wanting to leave Texas Jim applied his
knowledge, skill and love of computers to a position with Basic Four. This was
followed by 13 years with Prelude Systems. For the past five years, Jim worked
for Central Garden and Pet. Walnut Creek, CA from his Dallas office. He
additionally provided computer services for Patty Stern Markley's event planning
