Ida Mae Marsh
September 16, 1917 - November 22, 2013
Ida Mae Marsh 96 years of age, a long time resident of Farmers
Branch departed this life on November 22, 2013 at Providencia Assisted
Living in Lewisville Texas. She was born September 16, 1917 in Frankford
Texas to L.N. and Pearl Hartline.
Ida graduated from Plano High School at the age of 15. She met
Hollis Walter (Ted) Marsh,
member of one of the original settling families of Farmers Branch, on a
blind date when she was 19 years old, they were married September 4,
1937 in Farmers Branch Texas. Ida Mae owned and operated Bee Line
Florist and Nursery in Farmers Branch. She was a long time member of the
First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch and sang in the choir for many
years. She had a life long love of singing and writing. She won
recognition for several letters and jingles she wrote. One of her
letters was published in the textbook Rogerian Perspectives. She
traveled extensively with family and friends and always enjoyed a new
adventure.
She was predeceased by her husband
Hollis Walter (Ted) Marsh, daughter
Kathleen (Kathy) Marsh Thompson, and brother Ronald Newton Hartline. She
is survived by daughters Sharon Marsh Cozart and husband William David,
Janet Michelle Redman, son Charles David Marsh, son-in-law Gene Edward
Thompson, sister Claretta Nelson and husband Lloyd and sister-in-law Fay
Hartline, 9 grand children, 13 great grand children, and 5 great-great
grand children.
Family will recieve friends from 6-8 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home Monday,
November 25, 2013. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 26,
2013 at 1 pm at the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch. Burial will
follow at Restland Memorial Park. |
