Friday, February 12, 2016

Jan Marie Marshall, 59, died on February 9, 2016, among family and friends after an ardent six-year battle with cancer.
Jan was born October 11, 1956, in Chattanooga, the daughter of Bill Kirklen and Katherine Kirklen.

Jan was a nature enthusiast who loved to surround herself by beautiful foliage throughout her house, doing a variety of arts and craft activities, such as, crocheting and furniture refurbishments or improvements, perusing the local artists creations at the Chattanooga's Farmer's Market, and, especially, relished spending time with her beloved grandson, Samuel Day Holly.
Jan is survived by her sisters, Debra Baldridge and Peggy Roe; daughters, Jean Marie Marshall, Claudia Lee Marshall, and Julie Francis Marshall; grandson, Samuel Day Holly; two nephews and one niece; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
The family thanks all of those who have cared for her throughout her illness, especially, Dr.Derek Holland of Tennessee Oncology.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, in the chapel followed by visitation.
