OBITUARY

MARTIN
GLEN EUGENE
May 3, 1925
January 12, 2004

Born in Electra, Texas. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Francis Martin, daughter and husband Sandye and Roy Peterson of Carrollton grandson and wife Brian and Erin Peterson, great-grandchildren Lauren and Lane Peterson of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, sister and husband Dorothy and B. T. O'Connell of Denton, his aunt Mabena Knight and cousin, Jerry Knight of San Antonio. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After being honorably discharged in 1947 as a Staff Sergeant, went to work at Love Field as an airplane mechanic. He worked as a carpenter and job-site foreman for Lloyd Wynn Construction in Carrollton, building homes in the Whitlock Addition, including the home he lived in since 1952. He worked for Avery Mayes Construction as a job-site foreman and superintendent over such jobs as the Dallas Music Hall Remodel at Fair Park, Thanksgiving Square, Lincoln Towers, and Brookhaven Community College. He retired from Huber, Hunt, & Nichols as a superintendent. After retiring he spent many hours volunteering for the Carrollton Senior Adult Services. He was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year in 2001. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather brother, uncle and friend to many. He was loved by all and will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday the 16 of January at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Carrollton on Josey Lane. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Memorial Fund at the Fist Christian Church, 1835 Walnut Ave., Carrollton, TX 75006, or charity of your choice, in Glen's name.
