OBITUARY
Edward D. May
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Edward D May, 72, a retired farmer, died Friday in a
Dallas hospital following a long illness.
He had been a resident of Arlington for 13 years after retiring from his farm in
Earle, Ark. May was born in Farmers Branch and was a member of the Methodist
church and the Modern Woodman of the World.
He is survived by four sons, Arthur May of Dallas, Joe G. May of Arkansas, E. D.
May Jr. of Oklahoma city, Okla., and Loyd B. May of Cedar Hill; two daughters,
Mrs. Clinton Prater of Malvern, Ark., and Mrs. Joe E. Walker of Corpus Christi;
three sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Long and Mrs. Jimmie Smith, both of Dallas and Mrs.
Lela Dennis of San Angelo; 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Moore's Funeral Chapel, 504
East Main, with burial in Farmers
Branch Cemetery.

ARLINGTON. Oct 21, (Spl). Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in
Moore Chapel at Grand Prairie with burial in Farmers Branch Cemetery for Edward
D. May, 72, of Arlington.
He died Friday in a Dallas hospital after an illness of several months.
May was a native of Farmers Branch and lived in Arkansas before moving to
Arlington 13 years ago.
Survivors are four sons, Arthur L. May of Dallas, Joe G. May of Arkansas, Lloyd
May of Cedar Hill and E. D. May Jr. of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs.
Clinton Prater of Malvern, Ark. and Mrs. Joe E. Walker of Corpus Christi; three
sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Long and Mrs. Jimmie Smith of Dallas and Mrs. Lela Dennis
of San Angelo; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
