OBITUARY

McBEE
Margaret Woodson, beloved mother, grandmother, and  sister passed into life after death on March 2, 2005 after a valiant battle with cancer. Born December 12, 1917, she was the second daughter and fourth child of Bertha and l. R. Woodson of Denton. She graduated from Denton High School and TWU in Denton, and received her Masters Degree of Education at UNT in Denton. She taught in Argyle and Farmers Branch before retiring from Carrollton ISD after 23 years of teaching. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Denton. She was a member of Eastern Star and Texas State Teachers Association, as well as National Educators Association and a Life member of Texas P.T.A. She was preceded in death in 1985, by husband Fred R. McBee, her father L. R. Woodson, her mother Bertha Amelia Thomason Woodson, three brothers Charles, John, and R. O. "Mose" Woodson and one sister Lillian Lohrke. If she were standing here today, she would say... "Please don't grieve for me, it makes me sad. Be happy; love one another, for I will be waiting for you with open arms on the other side". Her attitude exemplified the value she places on education and children, and it guided the work she did as a professional educator during her 87 years with us. After raising five sons, she also raised and nurtured two grandsons. She was a good and loyal friend to many throughout her life. She held a special fondness for her friends at the VFW Post 2205. Survived by her children Rives and Kay McBee of Irving, Freddie and Sara mcBee of Denton, Ronnie McBee of Whitesboro, John and Nell McBee of Gainsville, and Jimmy McBee of Whitesboro, Nine grandchildren; Kayla Dyess of Bullard, Texas, Kathy Miller of Irving, Gary McBee and April Leatherwood of Denton, Damon McBee of The Colony, Kirk McBee of Gainesville, Angela McBee of Roanoke, Mark McBee of Denton, and Michael McBee of Dallas. None great-grandchildren: Taryn and Carly Dyess, Corey Miller, Megan and Cody McBee, Ryleigh and Kinley Leatherwood, Jacob mcBee and Trevor McBee. her surviving siblings are one brother, Marion Woodson of Irving, two sisters Bertha Milhollin of Whittier, California and Mildred Harper of Allen. She was also survived by sisters and brother in marriage Melba Woodson, Joye Woodson and Thurman Harper. Survivors also include a host of cherished nieces, nephews and friends; those who faithfully and  lovingly cared for her, namely the late Dr. William "Mack" McCormick and Dr. Jitenda Bhatt, Ida Ritchie of Sanger, Janet Gaines and Betty Wright of Denton and Ann's Haven Hospice of Denton. To each of them, the family expresses their deepest gratitude. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm on Friday, March 4, 2005 at the Mulkey-Mason Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home in Denton. Services are scheduled Saturday, march 5, 2005 at 11:00 am at Mulkey-Mason Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Woodson Jr., her nephew, officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Cemetery, Krum, Texas. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews; Gary McBee, Mark McBee Michael McBee, Kirk McBee, Damon McBee, Shannon Woodson, Larry Woodson and Charles Woodson. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Highland Baptist Church of a charity of your choice.
