OBITUARY JACQUELINE
KELLEY MCDONALD
1927 - 2017
McDONALD,
Jacqueline Kelley 89, of Dallas, TX Jacqueline Kelley McDonald was born
in Bonham, Texas on August 17, 1927, and died on March 4, 2017. She was
the daughter of Tolbert Grisham Kelley and Gladys Perry Kelley and had a
younger brother, George Warner Kelley. She married Charles Glenn
McDonald in 1946 and they had one son, Scott K. McDonald. After Glenn's
death in 1995, Jackie married Harv Merrell, and they were married for
seven years. Jackie grew up in Carrollton and attended SMU. She and
Glenn lived in Carrollton, Victoria, and Dallas. They liked to travel,
find new places to eat, go to football, basketball, and baseball games
and play golf. Jackie loved her daily paper and the crossword puzzles it
contained. Jackie loved the State Fair and the Arboretum, but more than
that Jackie loved being around people. She was always well dressed, well
coifed and her makeup was just right all the time. Everyone loved
Jackie. She is survived by her son, Scott K. McDonald and her
granddaughter, Lillian Sedona McDonald, her sistersinlaw, Peggy Kelley
and Carolyn McDonald, her brother-in-law, Roy McDonald and his wife
Beth, nieces Judy McDonald, Monnette McDonald Gray, Melaine McDonald
Woolsey, Perry Kelley Pennington and Jennifer McDonald Scroggins, nephew
Roger Kelley, several cousins and many, many friends. She will be
missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, March 18,
2017 in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home, 217 S. Hampton Rd.,
DeSoto, Texas 75115. Memorials are encouraged to the Texas Scottish Rite

Missing elderly woman identified as victim of large
Dallas condo fire
DALLAS
Authorities have confirmed that the body pulled from the rubble of a
massive Dallas condo fire was that of a missing elderly woman who lived
there, according to media reports.
Jacqueline
McDonald, 89, was reported missing after the seven-alarm fire at the
Preston Place condos in north Dallas over the weekend, CBS 11 reported.
Monday morning, a body was found in the destroyed building near
McDonald’s unit.
Early Thursday morning, the Dallas County medical examiner confirmed it
was McDonald’s body that was removed from the rubble, CBS 11 and FOX 4
reported.

Updated at 7:44 a.m. Thursday to reflect that the
body has been identified as Jacqueline McDonald, the 89-year-old woman
reported missing after the fire.
The body found in a North Dallas condo building after a massive blaze
tore through it over the weekend has been identified as the 89-year-old
woman reported missing Saturday.
The Dallas County medical examiner's office identified the victim as
Jacqueline McDonald, a woman with dementia whose body was found near her
condo Monday. They have not yet determined her cause of death.
The four-story Preston Place condos in the 6200 block of West Northwest
Highway went up in flames late Friday night in a seven-alarm fire. Crews
were continuing to extinguish hot spots this week but had to battle
visible flames coming from the top of the structure about 1 a.m.
