Funeral service for Larry McDowell will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Sonny Scarborough officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Laird Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches.

Larry McDowell Sr., 86, of Nacogdoches passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 in Nacogdoches. He was born July 20, 1933 in Coppell, Texas to Rufus and Ruby McDowell. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1952 and joined the army in 1953. In 1981 he moved with his family to Nacogdoches and retired from National Automotive in 1995. Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rachel McDowell, daughter Rhonda Huskey and husband Chuck, son Thomas McDowell and wife Patti, daughter Virginia McDowell, daughter Carla Likes and husband Bobby, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and sister Mary Miller.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Huskey, Steven Huskey, Cole Vandiver, Bobby Likes, Trae Scarborough, and Christian Gill.
