Couple to Celebrate Their Golden Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. McFarland, married at the First Baptist Church in 1896, will
celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday with an open house from 3 to 6
p.m. at their home, 3905 Worth.
McFarland, early teacher in the Dallas public schools, was treasurer of Dallas
County at one time. Mrs. McFarland was Miss Pollie Furneaux before her marriage.
The Furneaux family settled here with the old Peters Colony, which had
headquarters near Farmers Branch.
Members of their wedding party will be in the receiving line and guests include
former schoolmates and pupils of McFarland, who will display classroom records
kept by him in the early nineties.
