OBITUARY

David Randall McGuire
APRIL 19, 1959 – OCTOBER 31, 2021

David Randall McGuire, age 62, of Coppell, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021. David was born April 19, 1959 in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
David ("Dave") Randall McGuire passed away on October 31, 2021, at the age of 62. Dave was born on April 19, 1959 in Sharon, Pennsylvania. He was welcomed into the world by his parents, Arthur and Nancy McGuire.

David grew up in Carrollton, Texas with his parents and brother, Tom. While attending R.L Turner High School, he met his future wife, Melissa McGuire. Dave and Melissa were married on September 24, 1982. They welcomed their daughter, Katherine, into their lives on May 16, 1988, followed by their son, Christopher, on October 12, 1990. David and Melissa enjoyed 38 years of family trips to Ruidoso, New Mexico, sipping wine on the coasts of California, and visiting the Texas Hill Country together until her passing in March 2021.

Dave followed in his father's footsteps as a solo steel salesman, taking over and becoming the face of Premier Metals for over 30 years. When he wasn't selling steel, Dave was a man of many hobbies. From tinkering in the garage, building model rockets, to fully restoring multiple Lotus cars, Dave was always known for his ability to fix or build just about anything.

Dave loved to ride his bike with the Coppell Rebel Riders Team, which is and was a group of forever friends. Some of his favorite memories included hiking and skiing the mountains of New Mexico with friends such as the Lovelady Family, the Stanley Family, the Brooks Family, and many more. He was the best cook, who made countless pasta dishes, charcuterie boards, and the best Sunday morning breakfast. He was also a member of one too many California wine clubs (Fort Ross was his favorite.) He will always be known for his extreme sarcasm, jokes, kindness and genuine heart. But above all, Dave loved being a father and grandfather, who loved his family with his whole heart.

He was truly one of a kind, and will be greatly missed.

Dave is survived by his daughter, Katie, her husband, Jed, and their daughters, Ava (5) and Addison (2). He is also survived by his son, Chris, his wife, Myka, and their daughters, Finley (3) and Piper (9 months). His brother, Tom and family, as well as Melissa's parents, brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews, will help give us strength to endure the loss of both of our parents within the same year.

We love and miss you, Dad. We promise Sophie is in good hands.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Big Pig Cancer Foundation, a mountain bike racing team whose proceeds go to Cancer Research.

A celebration of life for David will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church Coppell Ministry Center, 420 S. Heartz Rd, Coppell, TX 75019.
