OBITUARY

Services set for McKamy
The local area lost another pioneer Wednesday with the death of Hershel McKamy after a long battle with emphysema. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., today at Rhoton Weiland Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul Morell conducting the services. Burial will be at Hilltop Memorial Park.
Hershel was born April  19, 1909, the son of L. C. and Maggie Dalton McKamy. He was a descendent of several Dallas County pioneer families, a great-great grandfather having established the first Baptist in Dallas County in 1845.
Hershel and his father were engaged in the dairy business. The family farm was located at Josey and McKamy.
Hershel had been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carrollton since 1919.
He is survived by his wife, the former Annette Padgett, Daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Willie Watson; sisters Doris Ramsay and Margaret Colwell; grandsons Kenny and Danny Mox; great grandson Larry Mox, and two aunts.

Husband of Mrs. Annette McKamy, father of Mrs. Betty Watson, brother of Mrs. Doris Ramsay & Margaret Colwell, grandfather of two grandsons & one great grandson, all of Carrollton. Public visitation until hour of Funeral Service Friday afternoon 3 p.m.  CHAPEL OF THE RHOTON-WEILAND FUNERAL DIRECTORS. Dr. Paul L. Morell presiding. Interment following, Hilltop Memorial Park, Carrollton. Memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated to the American Lung Association, Dallas Area Chapter, P.O. Box 190625, Dallas, TX 75219, or to the First United Methodist Church of Carrollton, P.O. Box 204, Carrollton, TX 75006.
