Glenn McNeill

Retired Carrollton police officer Glenn McNeill died July 31 at the Brookhaven Nursing Center in Carrollton.

Mr. McNeill, 66, was a resident of Little Elm. He was born Dec. 8, 1935 in Longview, Texas, to Harles Samuel and Myrtle Irene Harris McNeill. He was a member of the Carrollton Police Department for almost 10 years and had a 20-year career in law enforcement.

Family members said Mr. McNeill loved to tell jokes and was the life of any party. He had many talents, they said, especially cooking brisket.

Mr. McNeill is survived by daughter Shawn Edwards and husband David of Coppell; daughter Vicki Lynn Bassett and husband George of Garden Grove, Calif.; son Robert McNeill and wife Kim of Little Elm; sons Danny McNeill and Ricky McNeill, both of Garden Grove, Calif.; stepson, Darrell Contreras and wife Merilee of Coppell; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date and requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
