OBITUARY

JESSE CLELL MEASON

JESSE CLELL MEASON Known as Jay or J.C. by friends and family, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2007. He was born December 17, 1921 in Blake, OK to Jesse and Minnie Meason. He was the youngest of 12 children. He was a WWII veteran and served in the U.S. Army, 84th Infantry Division, MP Platoon from 1942 to 1946. In August 1944, he landed on Omaha Beach. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and the recipient of 3 Bronze Service Stars. In 1946 he married Helen McCulley Meason who preceded him in death in 1990. A long time resident of Carrollton, he was a Custom Home Builder in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch area until he retired in the 1980's. He also served as an officer of the Homebuilder's Assn. He was a member of the Farmers Branch Church of Christ and served as a deacon at the Denton Road Church of Christ in the 1960's. He is survived by 2 daughters, Carolyn Todd Graves and husband Ed, Becky Lunsford and husband Rick; 4 grandchildren, Amy Todd, Brad Todd and wife Claudia, Ryan Lunsford, and Lori Babek and husband Brian; 3 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Kelver, Brennan Munguia, Althea Todd and a sister, Naomi Cook. His life as a Christian was an example and influence to many. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Visitation, Wed. 3-21-07 from 6-8PM at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 Stemmons, Carrollton. Funeral service is Thur. 3-22-07 at 1PM at Farmers Branch Church of Christ. Interment to follow at Hilltop Memorial Park.
