OBITUARY
At
9:17 this morning, we said goodbye to the best man I've known. My dad,
Robert Merrill, has left us to be with my mom - his lifelong love. This
journey has been an unexpected, painful one, and it will take us all a
very long time to accept what happened and to heal. What should have
been a routine day procedure, resulted in four additional surgeries in
eight days and three weeks in the ICU. At 80, his body finally succumbed
to the abuse, and we made the heartbreaking decision to let him go. He
was surrounded by his family and close friends, and I know he felt our
love.
Please keep our family in your hearts as we try to come to terms with
what has happened. To say we are devastated is an understatement.
And to all his former Turner students, I would ask you to dig out that
vase or ashtray (or bong) you made in pottery class, dust it off, and
think of Mr. Merrill with a smile.Dena Dunn - Oct 26, 2024 |
