OBITUARY
Mrs. Montgomery Dies. At home on College street last
Friday evening death claimed Mrs. Bertha Montgomery, wife of D. Mac
Montgomery, a mother much needed by her family of five daughters, the
eldest being about fourteen years of age and the youngest being born a
few hours before the demise of the mother. Funeral services were held in
the Methodist chruch at Addison Sunday at 11 o'clock and interment made
in Frankford cemetery.
Rev. W. N. Vernon conducted the services.
Bertha Loue Campbell was born in Meigs County Tenn., October 31, 1886.
Her parents who are yet living came to Texas in 1897 and she, a girl 11
years of age, accompanied them to the new home. In 1908 she was united
in marriage with Horace K. French and to this union was born a daughter
and a son. On August 11, 1915, she was married to D. Montgomery and to
them were born five children, all girls and they and their father are
left to mourn the untimely calling of their family center, the one
around whom all home activities must gravitate. Besides these there are
the aged father and mother, one brother and five sisters.
In early life this good lady united with the M. E. South, and has lived
a life in keeping with the precepts of Him whom she took as her guide.
She was a ever a good and dutiful daughter, a loving and devoted wife
and mother. To this sorrowing family the heartfelt sympathy of the
community goes out in unstinted measure and their prayer is that He that
watches over all, and even is interested in the sparrows, may give too
them a generous share of His watchful care that they may be spared some
of the sorrows as usually following such a loss as they have been called
upon to undergo.
