OBITUARY

Eddie Ray Montgomery
1944-2015

Eddie Ray Montgomery, 71, passed away on 22 October 2015 at his home in Spring, TX. He was born on June 26, 1944 in Dallas, TX to Frank and Willie Nell McMurry Montgomery. Eddie grew up in Carrollton, TX. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1962. After high school, he attended North Texas State University. He married Mary Lou Morris and began to work in the Insurance industry, where he worked for 50 years and served as a mentor to many.
Eddie married Mary Lou in 1966 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, in Farmers Branch, TX. They were happily married for 50 years. Eddie was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Spring, TX.
Eddie enjoyed music and expressed it with whistling everywhere he went. He loved sports and always coached his children's teams. He never met a stranger and touched every life he interacted with in a special way. He was Dad, Daddy, Papa, Grandpa, Mister Ed and Uncle Ed. He was devoted to his wife and family, which included all the "adopted" children in the neighborhood and friends of his children, and his grandchildren/dogs. Eddie had a beautiful and contagious smile, and his hugs could take away every ill feeling in the world. His kindness was limitless, his knowledge vast, and his heart as colossal as his stature.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Willie Nell; his in-laws, Harry and Uva Morris and his granddog, Tobey. Eddie is survived by his spouse Mary Lou of Spring, TX; his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kimm Montgomery of The Woodlands, TX; his daughter Samantha Doring and her spouse Alexander Cedillo of Cypress, TX; his daughter and son-in-law, Tabatha and Craig Pope of Spring, TX; his grandchildren, Emily Perry, Carter Montgomery, Cayden Montgomery; Trixie and Maximus, the granddogs; his half-sister, Gina Takalo of Dickson, TN and her family; his sisters/brothers-in law who were truly his siblings; a multitude of nieces and nephews and their spouses, as well as grand-nieces and nephews.
The family will be greeting visitors at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main St. in Tomball, TX, from 5-7 pm on Friday, November 6, followed by a rosary vigil at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church, 2601 Spring-Stuebner Rd. in Spring, TX at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 7th. The Mass of Christian Burial and Interment will take place at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800 Valwood Pkwy. in Farmers Branch, TX on Saturday, November 14th at 6:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial tribute donations be made to Texas Children's Hospital.
