OBITUARY

R. G. Murphy, School System Official, Dies

LANCASTER, Texas - Richard G. Murphy, business manager of the Carrollton School District for the last seven months, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital after a 5-week illness. He was 28.
A native of San Antonio, he had lived in Lancaster for the last four years.
Mr. Murphy served four years in the U.S. Airforce, having seen Korean service. He was a 1959 graduate of North Texas State College in Denton.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Rice, Navarro County.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Murphy of Lancaster; two sisters, Mrs. James Walker of Socorro, N.M., and Miss Bernice Murphy of Lancaster; and two half-brothers, Raymond Lee Murphy of Ben Wheeler, Van Zandt County, and Augustus Foster of Seminole, Gaines County.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Saturday in the Byrum Chapel in Lancaster and the Rev. Marvin Bledsoe of Fort Worth officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster's Edgewood Cemetery.
