OBITUARY

RAYMOND LEE MYERS
May 13, 1947 - February 13, 2020

Raymond Lee Myers (Ray) of Carrollton, Texas, took his last breath peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones on February 13, 2020. He was born on May 13, 1947. He was the son of Clifton & Juanita Myers. He married Susan Bostick in 1971, and together they had two sons, Sean Michael Myers and Shannon Matthew Myers. Shannon, preceded his father in death. Raymond is survived by his wife Susan Myers, his son Sean Myers, daughter in law Natalie (Plourde) Myers, three beautiful grandchildren Emma Myers, Tate Myers and Blakely Myers and one brother Billy Jim Myers.

Raymond was well known in his community having worked side by side with his brother and his family business (Vent Craft, Carrollton Texas) for more than 30 years. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. His greatest love in life was the love for his family and second, his love of the land. His favorite past time was simply spent sharing his life with his loved ones and enjoying time outside on his farm either checking on the cows about to have new calves, keeping the coyotes at bay, feeding the donkeys occasional treats, mowing, or simply watching the sun set on another day.

“DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP”

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there; I did not die.

Mary Elizabeth Frye (1932)
