OBITUARY

D. D. Myers Died Tuesday

Stephen Douglas Myers was born east of Carrollton April 24, 1859, and passed from this life at his home in Carrollton Tuesday morning, January 27, 1931, aged 71 years 9 months and 3 days. Funeral services were held from the Union Baptist church, of which he was an active member so long as health permitted, Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 28.
On August 5, 1890 he and Miss Eugenia Hoffman were united in marriage and the wife and three children survive him. The children are: Mrs. Carl Skelton of Lewisville, O. C. Myers and Mrs. H. C. Nance of this place. Two brothers are living: G. F. Myers of Carrollton and J. S. Myers of Mineral Wells; one sister, Mrs. Martha Stubbs of Home, Arkansas.
The funeral services were in charge of his pastor, Rev. L. M. Joines; the history of his life was read by Rev. A. W. Cunningham, scripture was read by Rev. W. N. Vernon; Rev Earl Anderson offered prayer, and the sermon was delivered by Rev. Joines.
Pall bearers were his nephews Jay Myers, A. F. Myers, D. J. Bailey, H. D. Bailey, Tom McKamy, Loyd McKamy.
Burial was made in the Union (Perry) Cemetery east of town.
