OBITUARY


In Memory of
Gerald Lynn Nicholson
June 13, 1942 - October 27, 2011

Gerald Lynn Nicholson of Carrollton, TX passed away October 27, 2011 in the comfort of his home in Carrollton due to complications of lung cancer.

Gerald was born June 13, 1942 in Denison to Roy and Elba Nicholson and was preceded in death by his parents. Gerald was raised in Denison, TX and graduated from DHS in 1960. In 1962 he married the love of his life, Sharon Ann Gray, whom preceded him in death in 2007. They were married 43 years.

Gerald graduated in 1964 IBEW Apprentice Program and went on to work for Fisk Electric and then to own and operate his own electrical business. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Aubrey Earl Hope Lodge No. 1446 A.F. & A.M. in Dallas. He had many friends that he made along the way and was a regular at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, and Charlie's Bar in Dallas.

Gerald is survived by his only son, Chad and daughter in-law Jennifer, and granddaughter Brandi Phillips of Exeter, CA; sisters Darlene Patti Harrod, brother in-law Jim Harrod, and Betty Snider of Denison; and one brother, Ron Nicholson, and sister in-law Glenda of Denison; Sister in Law Bernice Gray of Sherman; and a host of nieces and nephews, which he loved dearly. He is also survived by his loving caregivers and best friends, Jennifer Adams of Dallas, and Deb and Gene Sisk of Keller.

A celebration of his life will be held 2pm Monday at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will follow at Hilltop Cemetery.

Family night and visitation will be held Sunday from 5-7pm at Rhoton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
