Christine T. Nims
JULY 23, 1963 – JUNE 3, 2021
Christine Theresa Nims was born on July 23, 1963 in Hampton, Virginia on Langley AFB to Sidney L. Nims and Dolores F. (Conlan) Nims. She succumbed to a long bout of illness and passed peacefully on June 3, 2021 in Lewisville, Texas at the age of 57.

Christine “Chris” is survived by her Mother, Dolores Farris, and her siblings, Kelly Rutherford, Kevin Nims, and Connie Nims, half-sisters Bonnie Lyon and Debbie Heneghen, step-sisters Tina Turcotte and Karen Mayer, niece Kara Thurston, her husband Ben and their son Rudy, nephews Jon and Eric Martin and Brennan Nims, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chris is preceded in death by her father Sidney, step-father Jimmy “Frank” Farris, brother Steven Nims, half-brother Brian Nims, and step-brother Mark Farris.

Chris graduated from Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, where she was active in Performing Arts, and went on to attend the University of North Texas in Denton, where she received her Bachelors of Art in Radio/Television/Film. Her first position after graduating was with KISS FM 106.1, a major Dallas radio station.

Chris had a loving spirit, and enjoyed spending time with her niece, nephews, and cousins, willingly serving as a caregiver when called upon. She is described as having never met a stranger, and was accepting of all. Chris had a vibrant personality, and was outspoken regarding social and environmental issues. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at Rhoton Funeral Home located at 1511 S. Interstate 35E, Carrollton, Texas 75006 on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
