OBITUARY
MRS. MARY L. NIX DIES
Had lived in Dallas County for Seventy-One Years - Burial This Afternoon
Mrs. Mary L. Nix, widow of the late David H. Nix, died last night at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Homer R. Fisher, 2717 Laclede avenue. Mrs. Nix was born in
Jersey County, Illinois, May 4, 1841. She was a daughter of the Rev. David
Myers, a Baptist minister who came to Dallas county with his family in 1845. She
is survived by one sister, Mrs. Harriet Brant of Jacksboro, Texas and one
brother, Cleve Myers of Farmers Branch, and by the following children; Mrs.
Julia Nix Bryant of Nevada, Texas; Harrison A. Nix, Mrs F. M. Good and Mrs. T.
M. Moore of Carrollton, Texas; Mrs. Peter Handley of Garland; Mrs. J. E.
Southerland of Wynnewood, Ok.; Mrs. Homer B. Fisher of Dallas, and by eighteen
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at the
home of Mrs. Homer B. Fisher at 4 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev. J. H. Moore
officiating. The burial will be in the
Farmers Branch Cemetery.
