OBITUARY
 
NOELL, LESLIE FIELD
On Saturday, September 6, 2008, in his 96th year. A descendant of two early Dallas County pioneer families who arrived in the Peters Colony in the mid 19th century. A graduate of North Dallas High School and the University of Texas as Austin. He was employed in various engineering and management capacities in the oil industry in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois and California. Leslie acquired the taste for traveling and took multi-year assignments in Venezuela, Argentina, Lebanon, Columbia, Canada and Brazil. After returning to Texas, he formed his own drilling company and after some time decided to give up the oil business. After retirement, he continued his activities with horses and real estate. He was married to Cora Lee Coleman, the mother of his children, for over forty years. He later married Martha Stone on June 4, 1988 and they maintained residences in Richardson, Texas and Guadalajara, Mexico before returning to live full time in Texas.  Leslie and Mary were active travelers throughout the world until his death. Son of the late John Field Noell and the late Bertie Elizabeth Good Noell; husband of Martha Stone Noell; father of Leslie F. Noell, Jr., Jeff C. Noell and Sara Ann Matthews; grandfather of Julia Noell, Chris Noell, Alan Noell, Doug Noell, Graham Noell, Rebecca Haynie, Maureen Benke and Billy Matthews; great grandfather of Twelve; brother of the late Milton J. Noell and the late Ruby Noell Gryder; uncle of David Noell, Robert Noell and Linda Allen Deertrack. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, September 10, 2008 at the Old Frankford Church 17405, Muirfield Drive, Dallas, Mr. Robert Oglesby and Mr. Monroe Teague will be presiding. Interment will be in the historic Frankford Cemetery. Casket bearers: Ted Benke, Dave and Mark Hays, Jeff Haynie, Billy Matthews, Alan, Chris, Doug and Graham Noell. Mr. Noell will lie in state one hour preceding the service commencing at 10 o'clock.
