OBITUARY
 
Services for Eva Louise Norwood, 90, of Tyler, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Holland and Rev. Matthew Brennan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler. Eva went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 25, 2016 in Tyler. She was born March 24, 1926 in Carrollton to the late G.W. and Sally Fyke Myers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and member of Green Acres Baptist Church. Eva and her husband, Charles Norwood, moved to Tyler in 1957, upon their purchase of the one existing DQ in town. She worked part time in the business with Charles. Eva loved on children through serving in the church nursery and tutoring at Douglas Elementary for many years. She delivered Meals on Wheels since the 1980's. The ladies in her Sunday School class held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband , Charles; and by brothers, Darrell, Clifton, and Marlin Myers; and sisters, Willie D. Myers, Thelma Myers, and Georgia Ogle. She is survived by two daughters, Charlene Forster and husband Darrell, of Tyler and Georganne Foster of Lindale; four grandchildren, Melanie Muhr and husband, Mark, Joni Merchant and husband, Trent, Sara Brennan and husband, Matt, and Rebecca Stuve and husband, Joey; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons-law and family friends, Wade Clifton, Mark Clifton, and Len Holland. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels in Tyler, Green Acres Baptist Church, or The Hospice of East Texas Foundation.
