OBITUARY
Craig
Mitchell Nosal
FEBRUARY 16, 1948 – MAY 4, 2018
Craig Mitchell Nosal, age 70, was born on February 16, 1948. He passed
away peacefully with his family at his side at Seton Medical Center in
Austin, Texas, May 4th, 2018, as a result of congestive heart failure.
He was a graduate of R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas. He
went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at UT Arlington. He
continued his education and earned a Masters in mathematics from UTA,
and a Masters in economics from Michigan State University. He completed
his education earning a PhD in Economics from SMU in Dallas, Texas. He
was a long time employee of both Otis Engineering Corporation and
Verizon.
Craig is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Joseph Nosal and his
mother, Edythe Pearl Craig Nosal. He is survived by his loving wife of
25 years, Vickie Dawn Nosal and his three devoted daughters, Amber
Crocker and her husband Trey, Tracy Harris and her husband Nathan, and
Abby Thornton and her husband Jeromey. He is also survived by his
brother, Dennis Nosal and his wife Judy, and his sister Sharon Rodgers.
Grandpa Craig aka “Papa” also leaves behind six precious grandchildren,
Austin, Hannah, Nolen, Cory, Dylan, and Jameson, whom he enjoyed
spoiling with numerous “treats” and loved with all his sweet heart.
Craig was first and foremost an incredibly patient, kind, and generous
man to all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind many loving friends
and coworkers. He loved traveling, and even worked abroad in Australia.
He was very civic minded and delivered Meals on Wheels twice a week. He
loved serving others and helped form the Neighborhood Watch in his local
area. He and Vickie belonged to a weekly neighborhood Life group, and he
attended Planet Fitness several times a week where he enjoyed the great
friendships he made there. He was an avid fan of The Dallas Cowboys,
Texas Rangers, and Michigan State Spartans. Craig was our entire
family’s Knight in Shining Armor, and we will miss him dearly.
A Memorial Service honoring Craig will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday,
May 19, 2018, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, officiated by
Reverend Walter Harms.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made
to the American Heart Association.
