Mrs. Dorothy Ann Oliver
October 2, 1938 - October 26, 2013
Dorothy Ann Oliver passed away on October 26, 2013 after a
prolonged fight with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Hot Springs,
Arkansas on October 2, 1938 to parents John and Margaret Moshier.Dorothy
loved telling the story about leaving home at 15 years old so as to
complete her education. She graduated with honors from Dallas' Crozier
Tech High School in May of 1957. She was on the girls' basketball and
tennis team, as well as, the book club. While attending school there she
met her lifelong love Billy Clyde Oliver whom she would go on to marry
July 7, 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma. They would stay married and deeply in
love until the day she died.After settling down in Dallas/Farmers
Branch, she and Bill would have two children (Mike and Lisa) and later
three grandchildren (Missy, Toshua and Austin), as well as, two
step-grandchildren (Chad and Terry) whom she loved dearly. She worked as
a banker for Republic, Exchange and Commonwealth banks. Additionally,
she was a bookkeeper for Gas Equipment Co. /Rochester Gauge, as well as,
Joe Woods Sales and lastly as a commercial credit consultant for US
Telecom/US Sprint. In 1986 she had to take an early retirement due to
health reasons.She was a fan for life of the Arkansas Razorbacks, the
Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Texas Rangers. Dottie was
a lifelong and very proud "yellow dog democrat" and loved all things
Clinton. She cherished her cats, her birds and was especially proud of
her horses.She is preceded in death by parents John and Margaret Rogers-Moshier,
siblings John Moshier, Thad Moshier and Bernice Brazier. She is survived
by her loving husband of 56 years Bill Oliver, children and spouses Lisa
Oliver-Lankford & Bo Lane, Mike & Kathy Oliver, grandchildren and
spouses Missy Eenigenburg & Andrew Eenigenburg, Austin Oliver, Toshua
Lankford, Chad Lankford, Terry Lankford as well as a number of nieces
and nephews. Nanny, you will be missed…Services for Dorothy will be held
at 2:00 pm November 9, 2013 at the Metrocrest Funeral Home in
Carrollton. All who knew her are invited to attend. |
