OBITUARY
Timothy
Edward O'Neill
(1953-2011)
A memorial service for Timothy Edward O'Neill, 57, was held Saturday,
June 4, at 3 p.m. at Chapel by the Sea, 14730 Turnagain Bluff Way in
Anchorage, with Pastor Ken Rosentrator officiating.
Timothy died May 24, 2011, at Providence Alaska Medical Center from ALS
(Lou Gehrig's disease). He was born Aug. 7, 1953, in Dallas. He was a
graduate from R.L. Turner High School in 1971 in Carrollton, Texas and
graduated from Oregon State University with honors in 1978. He came to
Alaska in 1979. He worked for General Electric from 1978 to 1983 and for
Usibelli Coal Mine from 1983 until 2009. He lived in Healy from 1983
until 2010, when he moved to Anchorage.
His favorite pastimes were driving his Porsche, watching the Seattle
Mariners and traveling anywhere. According to his family, "He will be
remembered for his sweetness of spirit."
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Verna O'Neill and
his brother, Donald O'Neill.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jene' O'Neill; son and
daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kacie O'Neill; daughter and son-in-law,
Shannon and Alex Blue; seven sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances Wolf,
Diane and Jody Lawrence, Robbie and Bill Beebe, Cynthia and Hal Hornburg,
Pat and Bob Barton, Peggy and Jerry Montgomery and Margaret O'Neill; and
numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family has requested that memorial contributions in lieu of flowers
be directed to Hospice of Anchorage, 2612 E. Northern Lights Blvd.,
Anchorage, AK 99508-4119.
Arrangements were entrusted to Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel of
Anchorage.
