OBITUARY
Funeral
services for Larry Owen, age 64, of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, and formerly of
Buffalo, Texas, will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, August 17, 2019 at
Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Interment will follow
in Lummus Cemetery. The Owen family will receive friends Friday, August
16th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers: Lonny Dewberry, Jerry W. Owen, Jr., Lloyd Owen, III, John
Garnica, Sr., Biron Joseph, Bryan Owen, Stephen Joseph, Allen Lee
Larry Dewayne Owen was born July 5, 1955, in Corsicana, Texas, to J.W.
and Hazel Mae (Allen) Owen. He graduated from Buffalo High School and
had lived the past six years in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, coming from Little
Elm, Texas. Larry had worked as a drywall installer from a very young
age. While in Oklahoma, he had worked as a security officer for a casino
until his health began to fail.
Larry considered his family the most important part of his life. He
dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
siblings and extended family. A favorite past time of Larry’s was
basketball. He had enjoyed coaching his children from the time they were
young until they graduated high school. Larry was also a big fan of the
Dallas Cowboys. He passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019, in Oklahoma.
Larry was preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother and one
sister.
He is survived by wife, Ella Owen of Wynnewood, OK; daughters, Amy Owen
and Rene Owen of Wynnewood, OK; step-sons, Wally Lee of Wynnewood, OK
and Allen Lee (Cindy) of Lake Dallas; brother, Jerry Owen (Elena) of
Dallas; sisters, Linda Owens (Rich) of Choctaw, OK and Laverne Currie of
Ridge; grandchildren, Mandie Owen, Bryan Owen, Michael Davis, Natalie
Davis, Devan Davis, Ravyn Lee, Makenna Lee, Camdan Lee and Cinch Lee ,
as well as, great-grandchildren, Ava King, Adrian King and Presley Lee.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in
Buffalo, Texas. |
