ARTICLE Leading Our Youth
J. T. Parish, assistant principal
at R. L. Turner High School, has been with the Carrollton-Farmers Branch
School District for 11 years.
Prior to being named this year to his present position, Mr. Parish
served as assistant principal and dean of boys for three years.
Previously, he coached for eight years at R. L. Turner. Six of these
years he was head basketball coach. Also he coached football and
baseball.
Mr. Parish attended North Texas State University in Denton on an
athletic scholarship. He holds a master of education degree from N.T.S.U.
He is married to the former Ruth Ann Beaver. They have two children,
Jim, 5 years, and John, 10 months. The Parish family resides at 3110
Berrymeade in Farmers Branch and attend the Farmers Branch Church of
Christ. Ruth Ann is city secretary for the city of Farmers Branch, Tex.

OBITUARY PARISH
J. T. born November 12, 1935 in Santa Anna, TX went to be with the Lord on May
5, 2005 in Farmers Branch, TX. J. T. graduated from North Texas University in
1959 and began working as a basketball coach in the CFBISD. In 1978 he became
the principal of R. L. Turner High
School until 1984 when he became the Director of Community Education.
April 9, 1987 he was given a health challenge and retired in February 1988.
The health challenge did not shake his faith in the Lord, nor his love for his
family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth Ann Beaver
Parish of Farmers Branch; 2 sons, Jim and his wife Teresa of Aurora, CO, John
Parish of Farmers Branch; 2 sister-in-law, Mildred Parish and Ann Parish
Gilbreath; brother-in-law Cleve Beaver, and numerous other family and
friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Mable Parish, 2
brothers Newman and Ray and a sister Joyce Campbell Pruitt. Everyone J. T. met
was a special friend. Funeral Service will be held Saturday May 7, 2005 1
PM at Farmers Branch Church of Christ, Bro. Eddy Ketchersid officiating.
Interment will follow at Keenan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Civic League
Scholarship Fund PO Box 814372 Dallas, TX 75381.
