OBITUARY
Loudia Mary Hays Parker
Loudia Mary Hays Parker, age 94, a 52 year resident of
Austin, died peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2002
Mary was born in Daingerfield, Texas on August 27, 1908 to Bonnie Fernando Mason
and Dollie May Truitt Mason.
Mary married Robert Clarence Hays and lived in Carrollton, Texas until after his
death in 1946. She moved her family to Austin in 1950. Mary worked for the Texas
Department of Transportation for 23 years and was a member of the Order of
Eastern Star, Creedmore Chapter #607. She married Howell T. Parker in 1969 and
was widowed in 1993.
Preceding Mary in death were her parents; her husbands; grandson, Daryl Hays;
and sister, Viola Owen.
Surviving Mary are her son, Robert M. Hays and wife, Marilyn of Leander, Texas,
daughter, M. Delaine Williamson and husband, Claude of Carlisle, Massachusetts;
grandchildren, Steven Hays, Sharon Hays of Plano, Texas, Donna Hays of Gilbert,
Arizona; great-grandchildren, Lauren Alyssa, Christina, Cameron, and Alexandra
Hays; and sister, Bonnie Fay Davis of Royce City, Texas.
Mary had a deeply loving and unique connection with her great-grandchildren, as
they had with her. This special connection will provide warm and wonderful
memories for them throughout their lives. She will always be remembered for her
love and support of her family and for her indomitable spirit. We shall love and
hug her in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
The family will receive friends and relatives between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 12, 2002, at Harrell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm. at Trinity United Methodist Church in
Austin on Sunday, October 13, 2002. A private family service will be held in
Perry Cemetery in Carrollton, Texas On Monday October 14, 2002.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Mary's
memory to the Memorial Fund at Trinity United Methodist Church, 600 East 50th
