WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT
PERRY-PARKEY WEDDING
At the Union Baptist parsonage Saturday afternoon, Sept 16, at 1:30
o'clock was solemnized the marriage of Miss Alfreda Perry of this place and G.
J. Parkey of Dallas, Rev. L. M. Joines officiating and using the ring ceremony.
The couple departed soon after the ceremony for Oklahoma where they spent a
little time with the parents of the groom. On their return they took up
their residence in Dallas.
The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Perry of this place and
has grown to woman hood here, where she is well known and well liked. She
graduated from the Carrollton High School with the class of 1931. She is a
member of the Union Baptist church and one of its noble workers and will be
greatly missed from its circles. The groom is an employee of the Cox Dairy near
Dallas.
The best wishes of their many friends here is extended them with a hope for a
happy voyage on Life's Sea.
SHOWER FOR BRIDE
A shower for Mrs Jack Parkey, formerly Miss Alfrea Perry, was given by Mrs. E.
W. Brake at her home east of town Tuesday afternoon. About forty guests were
present and they had a jolly time as well as making a wonderful afternoon for
the bride of a few days. All wrote happy wishes for the bride in her Wish
Book, and there were many useful gifts presented as tokens of esteem. Punch was
served, Mrs. Noble Whitlock presiding at the punch bowl.
