OBITUARY James E. Perry Dies
James E.
Perry, for over forty years engaged in the drug business in Carrollton, died at
2 o'clock a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Sanitarium, Dallas, following a cerebral
hemorrhage Saturday evening. He was carried to the sanitarium immediately
following the attack, but little hopes were entertained for his recovery.
Funeral services were held in the Carrollton Christian church
Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and interment was in Forest Lawn beside the
wife who had preceded him in death just a few weeks before. Rev. S. E. Wilkin, of Dallas, former pastor here, preached the
funeral sermon, Rev. Orbin Turner assisting in the services. A large concourse
of sorrowing friends paid their last respects to their departed friend and
fellow citizen; the floral offerings were beautiful, the spray on the casket
being especially beautiful and eliciting much admiration. Mr. Perry had been in poor health for a number of years and during
the past three years being especially troubled, but on the day on which he was
stricken he said he felt better then he had for some time. Had he lived
until April 14thh he would have been 63 years of age. He was born just a short
distance north of Carrollton and has been a resident here all of his life.
He engaged in the drug business in early life and has been engaged in that line
ever since. His mother died when he was about nine years of age and his father
has also passed away, his wife died Feb. 28, this year. There are two daughters
surviving: Miss Glenn Perry at home, and Mrs. C. A. Lastinger of Houston.

ARTICLES
J. E. Perry has placed a Frigidaire fountain in his drug store. The new
fixtures are placed in the service counter and besides keeping all his creams
and syrups cool, makes ice to use in the fountain trade as well. The back
mirrors were denuded of their advertising and thus brot to view one can really
suspose he has a complete new outfit.
