Death Calls Mrs. Perry

Death made a visit to a Carrollton home and left in his wake a sadness that is more heavy than is usual in such visitations.  This is so because the wife and mother taken was but ten short days before active in live, and laboring for the beautification of the home they all loved so much.

Mrs. Sue May Perry, wife of J. E Perry, died at their home at 6:50 o'clock Friday evening, Febr. 23, 1934, double pneumonia being the cause of death. Mrs. Perry was taken sick on the Friday previous and was sick but one week, and in that time all that could be done by human hands was done, the family, friends, nurse, and several doctors laboring to stay the dread disease and bring to health the loved one.

Funeral services were held in the Christian church, of which deceased was a member, Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. C. E. Boren, pastor of the church preaching the sermon, and being assisted by Rev. A. T. Pilgreen of the First Baptist chruch, interment in Forest Lawn cemetery.  The active pall bearers were Jack Jackson, Tom Caruth, R. O. Connell, Bill Smith, Hut Ogden, and Hugh Torrence. Honorary pallbearers were: J. C. Davis, W. E. Kennedy, J. T. Rhoton, F McMurray, A. T. Stewart, C. L. Chastain, Dr. H. H. Whitney, R. E. Good, J. W. Sincler, John McCommas, Jake Gravley, A. R. Lowrey, and A. G. Kirksey. Ushers were: John Gunstream and Count Mayes.  Rhoton Und. Morticians.

Susie May Bennett was born near Coppell, Texas, Febr. 6, 1882, and passed away Febr. 23, 1934. She was united in marriage with James E. Perry in 1902. The husband and two daughters survive, also two grandsons. The daughters are Miss Glenn, at home; and Mrs. Louise Lastinger of Houston. One sister, Mrs. W. T. Crow of San Antonio, and three brothers, Will Bennett of Grapevine, R. E. and J. H. Bennett of Duke, Oklahoma, also survive.
