GRAPEVINE -- Mary Lorene Pirkle, 97, passed away Monday, July 1,
2013.
Funeral Service: Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at The First
Baptist Church of Grapevine.
Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 5 at J.E. Foust Funeral Home.
She was born to Ernest Clare and Mary Pearl Gentry in Coppell on
December 10, 1915.
She graduated from high school and married C.F. (Bill) Pirkle on May 12,
1934. They had two children and farmed and later dairied until
retirement. After his death she continued to be active in First Baptist
Church of Grapevine. She was a member of Peters Colony Historical
Society, Grapevine Historical Society, Charter member of Baylor Medical
Center, Volunteer Auxiliary of Grapevine, Six Flags Chapter of Daughters
of the American Revolution, Southwestern Theological Seminary
President's Club, Baylor Medical Center of Grapevine Development
Council, and member First Baptist Church of Grapevine. She gave her life
to Jesus Christ in August of 1927 and became a member of 1st Baptist,
Coppell from 1927 - 1958 and then became a member of First Baptist
Church of Grapevine from 1958 - 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.F. "Bill" Pirkle and son,
Darrell Pirkle.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Sandra Foster and husband
Larry; grandchildren, Kay Cross and husband, Tracy; Brad Schreiber and
wife, Jessica,; Karla Pratorius and husband, Robert; Bill Pirkle and
wife, Melinda; Dara O'Bannon and husband, Micah; great-grandchildren,
Levi and Colbie Schreiber; Kayla Qualls; Sheena Keliher and husband
Sean; Caitlin, Rebecca and Rachel Pirkle and Victoria Elise Taylor.
