OBITUARY
Bobby
Ray Powell, longtime resident of Collinsville, went to be with his
Heavenly Father Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at the age of 74. Funeral
services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in the sanctuary
of the Claremore Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dave Mewbourne
officiating. Private family committal rites were at Graceland Memorial
Park Cemetery, Owasso.
He was born Feb. 27, 1938, in Dallas, to Elton Lee and Eula Mae (Smith)
Powell.
Bobby was raised and received his education in the Dallas area,
graduating from Carrollton high school.
On Jan. 10, 1970, he and Jacqueline Binns were united in marriage.
They made their home in Texas until coming to Tulsa in 1975.
They have made Collinsville home since 1977.
Bobby was the owner of Powell’s Air-Conditioning & Heating, prior to
retirement.
He enjoyed carpentry and building projects, especially making things for
the children and grandchildren, family being a priority in his life.
His faith and love of God was the foundation for everything in his life.
This aspect of his life was apparent to all who met and knew him.
Survivors include: his wife, of the home; children, Jimmy Ray Powell, of
Terrell, Texas, Wendy Winfrey and husband Shane, of Denton, Texas, Sheri
Garcia and husband Dell, of Collinsville, and Robert Powell and wife
Angela, of Claremore; grandchildren, Sarah, Jessica, Jeremy, Mikey,
Wenoah, Wyatt, Mayson, Joselyn, Meyghan, Jazmyne, Isaac and Isabella; a
great grandchild on the way; and siblings Earline Guinn of Copeville,
Texas, and Troy and Steve Powell, both of Farmersville, Texas.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Brenda, and two
brothers, Altis and Wayne Powell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Pulmonary
Fibrosis Foundation, 230 E. Ohio St., Ste. 304, Chicago, IL 60611 in
Bobby’s memory.
Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service
of Owasso. |
