Carolyn
Price, 70, died peacefully in the
hospice unit at Trinity Towers in Corpus Christi, TX in the company
of a hospice nurse at 11:17 PM on Monday 4/30/2012 of congestive
heart failure. She had been anointed by the Reverend Philip May
earlier in the evening.A lifelong Texan,
Carolyn was born on August 3, 1941
in Dallas to J.C and Marcelle 'Marci' Jones. She grew up in
Carrolton and Addison north of Dallas. A graduate of Carrolton High
School, she moved to Corpus Christi in 1973.
A gentle soul with a sunny disposition, a great sense of humor
and a love of life, she leaves her partner of 20 years, Sue Millard,
of Corpus Christi; also her stepson Rick and Yvonne
Price and their two children, Ryan
and Rachel all of Corpus Christi, as well as many loving friends and
relatives.
Carolyn loved pets and caring
for pets. She leaves a dog, Katie (a lab mix), and two cats, Darron
and Willie. She supported various animal rescue organizations.
She was a retired real estate appraiser who earned the
designation Senior Residential Appraiser. She owned her own
appraisal business for 10 years.
Carolyn loved music. She had
been a member of Sweet Adelines and the choir at the Church of the
Good Shepherd (Episcopal) for 35 years, where she was also active in
the Altar Guild and the St. Francis Guild.
A member of Alcoholics Anonymous, she died at the 22nd
anniversary of her sobriety. (She had been given a 22 year medallion
shortly before her passing.) She was a long time member of the Weber
Road Nooners Group.
Carolyn loved to travel. She and
Sue flew to Alaska and Hawaii and took bus tours to Yellowstone and
elsewhere. She enjoyed visiting Sue's family in New Hampshire,
Pennsylvania and California.
A sports fan, she was especially fond of professional baseball
- particularly the Hooks and the Astros. Some of her travel was to
attend baseball games.
A Voracious reader, Carolyn
was especially fond of mystery novels.
Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 PM Saturday, May 12,
2012 at the Church of the Good Shepherd (700 S. Upper Broadway). Her
ashes will be interred in the columbarium at the church. A reception
will follow in the church parlor.
