OBITUARY

Pamela Jeane Bristow Pruitt

GRAY — Mrs. Pamela Jeane Bristow Pruitt, 63, Gray, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on April 25, 1953, in Athens, Texas to Bobbie Rhodes Bristow and the late Billy Gene Bristow. She had lived in Gray since 1987. Pam was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, where as long as her health allowed she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School in the Youth Department. She served the Lord faithfully until the end of her life. Even when she was in extreme pain, she had a quick smile and would often tell others how good God had been to her. Pam retired from the Washington County School System in 2016, after nearly 18 years as bookkeeper at Daniel Boone High School, Ridgeview Elementary School, and Gray Elementary School.

Those left to cherish her memory in addition to her mother include her loving husband of 36 years, David Pruitt of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Janel Pruitt of Robins, Iowa; four grandchildren, Emma Rose Pruitt, Trent Allen Pruitt, Molly Kate Pruitt, and Sarah Grace Pruitt, all of Robins, Iowa; two brothers, Danny Bristow and his wife Rita of Brownsboro, TX and Robert Bristow and his wife Ashley of Martinsville, TX; two sisters, Kim Hardy of Brownsboro, TX, and Paula McDonald and her husband Jeff of Richwood, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She loved her family and many friends dearly. Many friends were of great assistance to Pam during her illness.

The family would especially like to thank Lisa Stafford and Paula Maupin for the countless sacrifices they made to help Pam get to doctors’ appointments and work. The family would also like to express special appreciation for the excellent care Pam was given by Dr. Edwin McElroy, Joyce Siegel, and the entire staff at Wellmont Cancer Institute (Kingsport Hematology-Oncology).

The family will receive friends to share memories on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, Gray, with Dr. Jody Jenkins officiating. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jerry Lovegrove, Mark Randolph, Rick Maupin, Steve Stafford, Eric Barnes, and Danny Norton.

For those who prefer, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church Cancer Ministry, PO Box 8247, Gray, TN 37615.

Memories and condolences may be shared and viewed online at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.

Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, 3001 Peoples Street, Johnson City, TN 37604 423.610.7171 is honored to serve the Pruitt family.
