Mayor Ramsey Resigned

Mayor C. W. Ramsey has resigned his position as Mayor of Carrollton, the same having been tendered Monday night, Sept. 4. The Council selected W. T. Squibb as Mayor Pro Tem who will serve until a successor can be elected to take the position. It is possible that an election to fill this vacancy will be held soon.
When interviewed, the ex-mayor stated that business pressure was the cause of the resignation. As Manager of the Lyon-Grey Lumber Co. his time is now being taken more than it was before the inauguration of NRA and he felt that in justice to his business he would have to relinquish the position. He stated that no finer bunch of men to work with than the Carrollton City Council could be found and that no friction of any nature had oever developed to mar the pleasant work of the organization.
